Applied Scientist (Computer Vision)

Location: Kyiv, Lviv, or remote within Ukraine only.

What you will do

• Develop machine learning algorithms and advanced model-development methods for motion detection.
• Set hypotheses, gather experimental data, train and validate ML models, analyze datasets, and visualize research results.
• Tune hyperparameters, optimize algorithms, and improve model performance and accuracy.
• Research and evaluate new machine learning technologies and implement suitable methods in production.
• Consult and collaborate with colleagues across departments, report progress to management, and write papers based on research results.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to continuous technical development.

Requirements

• 4+ years of machine learning experience in the computer vision domain.
• Practical experience with at least one of classification, detection, or segmentation.
• Python 3, NumPy, scikit-learn, pandas, and SciPy.
• Experience with PyTorch and a good understanding of machine learning and deep learning concepts.
• Experience deploying machine learning models to production.
• Good written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Experience with GANs, VAEs, probabilistic programming, Bayesian frameworks, pruning, quantization, or knowledge distillation.
• Basic understanding of web and client-server architecture, asynchronous backend libraries such as asyncio and aiohttp, and Big Data concepts including MapReduce and in-memory processing.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, SQL, NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, C++, or Bash.
