Chief Information Security Officer (Digital Assets)

What you will do

• Own the information security strategy, roadmap, risk decisions, and scalable security programme.
• Lead and grow the security team, setting standards for hiring, delivery, and development.
• Define controls for on-chain infrastructure, including key management, custody, wallet security, and smart contract assurance.
• Build regulatory resilience across jurisdictions, including DORA requirements, and lead ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certification and assurance work.
• Lead incident response from preparation and testing through live incidents and post-incident reviews.
• Represent security with the board, institutional clients, auditors, regulators, Engineering, Product, Compliance, and Operations; manage third-party and supply chain risk.

Requirements

• Experience leading an information security function in a regulated environment such as financial services, fintech, or digital assets.
• Experience building or scaling a security team and programme in a fast-growing business.
• Ability to make clear risk decisions under uncertainty and explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Credibility with boards, regulators, and institutional clients, with confidence handling challenge.
• Experience running real incidents and owning the outcome, including communicating problems early and clearly.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards for personal and team performance.
• Clear written communication, including board papers and incident updates.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience securing blockchain infrastructure, digital asset custody, or smart contracts.
• Experience with regulators in more than one jurisdiction, such as the FCA, Central Bank of Ireland, or VARA.
• A recognised security certification such as CISSP or CISM.
• Direct interaction with board-level stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
