Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering (Defense Tech)

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado, US; onsite role with a 9/80 schedule.

Salary: $92,500–$171,500 annually in Colorado.

What you will do

• Translate customer capability needs into system requirements and manage allocation and traceability throughout the lifecycle.
• Maintain technical baselines through system documentation and manage complex systems engineering projects and processes.
• Apply RF systems, component, and test knowledge to support system design and verification.
• Develop system architecture models using Cameo, MagicDraw, or similar tools, and manage interface documentation including ICDs and IDDs.
• Perform obsolescence engineering, including trade studies, requirements comparisons, and lifecycle impact assessments.
• Generate and update Air Force Technical Orders, support integration activities, and collaborate with Integrated Product Teams in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a relevant master’s degree and 4 years of related experience; alternatively, 10 years of related experience without a degree.
• At least 2 years of direct experience working with requirements in the development or sustainment of a Department of Defense system.
• At least 1 year of experience with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and Confluence.
• Must possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.
• Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens; applicants must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with Electronic Warfare weapon systems and their operation.
• Familiarity with Systems Engineering Technical Review processes and tailoring them.
• Experience with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, MagicDraw, or other architecture modeling tools.
