What you will do

• Marshal news output for Motor Cycle News and create timely coverage for its website, social channels, video content, weekly newspaper, and related biking magazines.
• Represent MCN at events, interview key industry figures, and deliver fast, accurate, engaging reporting.
• Identify resonant stories for the UK motorcycling community, steer the news agenda, create exclusives, and gain access to major motorcycling stories.
• Work with the MCN editorial team and title editors to commission freelancers to budget and assess article value.
• Reuse and repurpose content across titles and editorial workflows.
• Where appropriate, propose, create, and write road tests, product tests, and features for motorcycling titles.

Requirements

• Solid news training, ideally to NCTJ level.
• Newsroom experience and exceptional newsroom talent.
• Ability to identify stories relevant to the UK motorcycling community and develop news exclusives.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to represent MCN at events, interview industry figures, and produce fast, accurate reporting.
• Ability to commission freelancers within budget and assess article value.

Nice to have

• Being a keen motorcyclist is desirable but not essential.
