Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Athens, Greece; hybrid with 1 office day per week

What you will do

• Build, operate, and monitor reliable data pipelines, infrastructure, and warehouse systems.
• Design analytics-ready data models with clear lineage and documentation alongside analysts and stakeholders.
• Apply testing and data quality practices to maintain dependable data products.
• Optimize warehouse performance and costs through query tuning, efficient modeling, and resource management.
• Manage secure data access so people and AI assistants can find, understand, and use trusted data.

Requirements

• Strong track record delivering impactful work as a Data Engineer or Analytics Engineer, with proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Hands-on experience with end-to-end ingestion, orchestration, modeling, transformation, and data quality on a cloud data stack such as BigQuery, Airflow, and dbt or equivalent tools.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, testing, documentation, and CI/CD.
• Comfort using AI-assisted development tools while carefully reviewing and testing their output.
• Knowledge of data accessibility, cataloguing, and quality assurance.
• Ability to scope, estimate, and deliver work independently in an Agile environment.
• Strong communication with analysts and stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Exposure to preparing data for AI use cases, including semantic and metrics layers, well-documented models, and LLM-based tooling such as RAG, embeddings, and vector databases.
