Embedded Software Engineering Specialist (AUTOSAR)

Location: Peterborough, United Kingdom; office-based five days per week. Less than 10% travel required.

Salary: £66,079 per annum, dependent upon experience, plus an experience-dependent bonus.

What you will do

• Develop, design, implement, and test embedded software for devices and systems.
• Develop and support software architectures for machine and technology applications.
• Test and debug embedded system software to improve code quality and optimize system performance.
• Write source code and enhance existing embedded-system code samples.
• Collaborate with systems, controls, product teams, engineering disciplines, and global teams on software strategies and product development.
• Maintain tools and processes supporting embedded software and AUTOSAR development; contribute to project planning and design reviews.

Requirements

• Knowledge of software product design and architecture, including converting market requirements into software product designs.
• Knowledge of requirements-analysis tools, methods, and techniques for eliciting, analyzing, and recording functional and non-functional requirements.
• Technical troubleshooting ability across hardware, software, applications, or operations.
• Analytical thinking, technical problem-solving, effective communication, teamwork, and ability to deliver planned results.

Nice to have

• Prior embedded software development experience in vehicle, construction-equipment control, or an associated environment.
• Variant and calibration data management experience.
• Understanding of fixed-point data typing.
• Extensive MATLAB Simulink software development experience.
• Knowledge of or prior experience with AUTOSAR.
• Knowledge of CAN or Ethernet data links and calibration or diagnostic tools such as CANape, CANalyzer, or CANoe.
