Manual QA Engineer

Location: Remote; role location listed as Frisco / North Dallas, Texas, United States

Salary: $115,000–$165,000 annually

What you will do

• Review requirements, identify test conditions and acceptance criteria, and assess release risks.
• Design and execute functional, integration, regression, API, mobile, and non-functional test scenarios.
• Develop and maintain reusable automated tests or test frameworks where applicable.
• Record defects with reproducible evidence, validate fixes, and communicate test status.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to improve test coverage, testability, and release confidence.

Requirements

• 4+ years of related professional experience in software quality assurance, testing, or test automation.
• Practical experience with manual functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing, test case design, defect tracking, and UAT.
• Knowledge of test planning, test design, execution, and defect lifecycle practices.
• Hands-on experience with relevant test tools or frameworks.
• Understanding of web, API, mobile, database, or distributed application behavior as applicable.
• Ability to analyze failures, document evidence, and collaborate with developers on root cause analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, or H-1B transfer candidates; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Additional hands-on depth in manual functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing, test case design, defect tracking, and UAT.
• Experience with cloud services, automation, and modern delivery practices.
• Familiarity with secure development, accessibility, governance, or regulatory requirements.
• Relevant professional certifications or advanced training.
