Senior Backend Developer (PHP/Go/Node)

Location: Fully remote from Thailand

What you will do

• Translate business requirements into clear system designs and working software.
• Extend and evolve existing web systems, background processes, and scripts for long-term sustainability.
• Build secure systems that follow established standards and protect against common attack vectors.
• Design, build, and document APIs for other teams and systems to consume.
• Use AI tools to accelerate development while reviewing and validating all AI-generated output.
• Test and review systems against requirements and communicate technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building web systems with PHP, Go, or Node.js.
• Solid understanding of web security standards and practical attack-prevention approaches.
• Strong understanding of API styles, including consuming existing APIs and designing new ones.
• Hands-on use of AI for system development, with the discipline to review AI-generated work.
• Ability to inspect and verify systems against requirements.
• Working knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics simply to teams and stakeholders.
• Collaborative approach, openness to feedback, eagerness to learn new technologies, and adaptability to changing environments.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
