Music & Sound Annotation Expert (AI)

hirify.global is engaging contractors for a music and audio technology project.

What you will do

• Listen to 30–90-second field recordings in a quiet workspace and annotate instruments, tempo, musical key, background events, timestamps, and audio-scene details.
• Compare recordings of the same song captured in different locations and identify similarities and differences.
• Review AI-generated descriptions of audio clips and explain which details are accurate, incorrect, or fabricated.
• Attend paid onboarding, calibration sessions, and short weekly project syncs.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in music or audio-related work.
• Strong analytical listening skills, including the ability to identify individual instruments in busy, noisy, real-world recordings.
• Ability to identify tempo within a few BPM and recognize musical keys; relative pitch with a reference is acceptable.
• Comfort with detailed, repetitive annotation using web-based platforms, including dropdowns, timestamps, and structured notes.
• Clear written English skills for brief, evidence-based feedback.
• Access to quality headphones, a quiet workspace, and a reliable internet connection.
• Availability for 20–25 hours per week throughout the engagement period.

Nice to have

• Experience as a working or gigging musician, session player, music producer, or mixing engineer.
• Experience as a music educator, ear-training instructor, band or choir director, or conservatory student or graduate.
• Experience as a location sound recordist, sound designer, foley artist, or podcast or documentary audio editor.
