Principal Scientist, Clinical Research

Location: Hybrid role based in Rahway, New Jersey, United States; US and Puerto Rico residents only. Travel approximately 20% of the time.

Salary: $255,800–$402,700 base salary annually, plus potential annual bonus and long-term incentive.

What you will do

• Plan clinical trials, including study design, operational plans, and research settings.
• Manage the full clinical development cycle for late-stage studies, including initiation, execution, monitoring, analysis, regulatory reporting, and publication.
• Analyze and summarize clinical findings to support safety, efficacy, regulatory submissions, clinical study reports, and publications.
• Collaborate with clinical scientists and cross-functional experts in commercialization, regulatory affairs, statistics, and manufacturing.
• Identify and engage clinical investigators, facilitate external research collaborations, and support business development assessments.
• Prepare development documents, presentations, budgets, and position papers for internal and external audiences.

Requirements

• M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
• Experience in industry or as senior faculty in academia.
• At least 3 years of clinical medicine experience and at least 1 year of industry experience in drug development or biomedical research experience in academia.
• Demonstrated scientific scholarship and achievement, with a proven track record in clinical medicine and biomedical research.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, written communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain current knowledge of scientific developments, research methodologies, and clinical research activities.

Nice to have

• Board certification or eligibility in cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, or a related discipline.
• Specific clinical research experience and prior publications.
