Senior LIMS Engineer (Prenatal)

Location: Onsite at the Union City, California lab, with flexibility to work from home or at the Menlo Park site when applicable.

Base pay: $152,309–$163,189 per year. Total compensation package: $209,507 per year, including equity, bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop secure, user-friendly software for the clinical laboratory.
• Deepen integrations between hirify.global software and the clinical LIMS.
• Own critical parts of the LIMS sample-processing pipeline and build supporting applications, tools, and infrastructure.
• Resolve complex issues involving sample handling, automation, and infrastructure that affect lab processing.
• Gather requirements, support user acceptance testing, incorporate feedback, complete quality-system paperwork, and launch products with cross-functional teams.
• Perform code reviews, verifications, and validations; mentor junior LIMS engineers and technical team members; and ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a biological or computational focus.
• Experience with Python and AI-assisted development.
• 5+ years of experience developing LIMS, applications, or customer-facing tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose advanced technical issues.
• Experience developing scripting solutions for automation problems.
• Strong attention to detail; flexibility and effectiveness under accelerated timeframes.
• Highly organized, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Creative problem-solving ability and willingness to handle varied daily tasks.

Nice to have

• Experience in a CLIA laboratory, medical device, or pharmaceutical environment.
• Data analysis experience with Python, SQL, or Excel.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and regulations including CFR 21 Part 11 and ISO 13485.
