Developer Advocate (Payload)

Location: Remote in the United States, or from the New York City or San Francisco hub; in-person onboarding is required.

Annual base salary: $115,000–$269,000 USD.

What you will do

• Promote Payload and Payload + Figma integrations to developers inside and outside Figma.
• Partner with Sales and Customer Experience to help customers use Payload across real product workflows.
• Triage GitHub issues and community pull requests, including labeling, reproducing, routing, and coordinating review and prioritization with engineering.
• Create technical tutorials, demos, videos, starter templates, and livestreams for Payload and Figma products.
• Build relationships with the Payload community, identify collaboration opportunities, and support user-driven initiatives.
• Present at meetups, conferences, and community events while bringing user feedback and emerging design trends into product decisions.

Requirements

• Deep, hands-on expertise with Payload and experience integrating it within real product teams.
• Comfort working across evolving CMS, DAM, design system, and AI-assisted design or prototyping workflows.
• Passion for engaging with and contributing to design or developer communities.

Nice to have

• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to turn early-stage ideas into polished, impactful outcomes.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to engage with the Payload community in person.
