Business Continuity Manager

Location: Bradford (BD4), United Kingdom; hybrid with 2 days in the office

What you will do

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Management System, framework, policies, and standards aligned with ISO 22301 and operational resilience best practice.
• Embed business continuity into the wider ISO management system, including ISO 45001 and ISO 27001 frameworks.
• Lead Business Impact Analyses to identify critical activities, dependencies, minimum service levels, recovery objectives, and priorities.
• Develop and maintain continuity and recovery plans for critical services, technology, locations, people, and third-party suppliers.
• Design and lead testing programmes, tabletop exercises, and scenario simulations, converting lessons learned into improvement actions.
• Partner with incident management, cyber response, disaster recovery, crisis communications, supplier assurance, enterprise risk, and senior stakeholders to manage resilience risks and build organisational awareness.

Requirements

• Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in business continuity, operational resilience, risk management, or a related field.
• Proven experience developing, implementing, or managing business continuity, disaster recovery, and/or operational resilience frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 22301, Business Impact Analysis, recovery planning, testing and exercising, incident response, and lessons-learned processes.
• Experience partnering with stakeholders across technology, operations, facilities, HR, legal, communications, procurement, and senior leadership.
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills, including identifying critical vulnerabilities and dependencies and translating them into practical improvement actions.
• Excellent communication skills and experience producing continuity plans, governance materials, action plans, and senior-level reports.
• Highly organised and collaborative, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Nice to have

• ISO 22301 Lead Implementer, ISO 22301 Lead Auditor, or equivalent business continuity or resilience certification.
• Experience in technology, SaaS, managed services, outsourcing, financial services, or business process outsourcing.
• Knowledge of ISO 31000, ISO 27001, IT disaster recovery, and third-party risk management.
• Experience supporting ISO certification, internal or external audits, management reviews, or wider assurance activities.
• Experience using GRC platforms to manage continuity plans, evidence, actions, and reporting.
