Government Supply Manager

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States; onsite role. Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a US Confidential/Secret Security Clearance. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Salary: $99,000–$156,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $123,000–$184,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end procurement strategy across development, certification, manufacturing, and production stages.
• Identify, qualify, onboard, and manage contract manufacturers against quality, security, compliance, capacity, cost, and delivery requirements.
• Run RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs; negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, supply agreements, and program-specific agreements.
• Build supply plans, monitor supplier commitments against forecasts and build schedules, and develop dual-source, contingency, recovery, and mitigation plans.
• Support NPI, engineering changes, alternate-part qualification, design-for-manufacturability, and transitions from prototype through LRIP to full-rate production.
• Drive shortage resolution, supplier corrective actions, process improvements, reporting, cost reduction, automation, and government procurement compliance.

Requirements

• 7+ years of directly applicable supply chain experience in manufacturing, technology, aerospace, or another complex operational environment.
• Experience managing suppliers and understanding federal and defense contracting requirements, including FAR, DFARS, and ITAR.
• Familiarity with MS Office, ERP/MRP systems, and supply planning tools.
• Bachelor’s degree focused on Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent related experience.
• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance required.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Nice to have

• Experience with contract manufacturers, supply constraints, shortages, production escalations, high-rate manufacturing, or production ramp environments.
• Strong communication, presentation, analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, prioritization, and conflict-management skills.
• Technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical components.
• Experience with NPI and aerospace, defense, autonomous systems, or space industries.
• Ability to influence stakeholders, improve processes, manage change, and work across different commodities.
