Senior Buyer (Supply Chain)

Location: Remote/hybrid in the United States, with travel to FMC sites as required; travel may reach 30%. U.S. citizenship is required, and proof of citizenship plus an attestation of no dual citizenship are required for NOFORN access.

What you will do

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle, from supplier selection and RFQ/RFP issuance through purchase orders, delivery tracking, and follow-up.
• Source, qualify, and manage suppliers while maintaining DFARS, ITAR, export-control, quality, and government-contract compliance.
• Build supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews and site visits, and resolve delivery and quality issues.
• Analyze costs and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve best value.
• Coordinate with operations and administrative teams to procure materials that meet budget, technical, and quality requirements.
• Maintain audit-ready procurement records, support cost reduction and continuous improvement, and mentor less experienced team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in defense, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS, ITAR, and government contracting processes.
• Proven negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or VISUAL.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to organize and manage large amounts of data from various sources.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to government-contract and export-control regulations; access to NOFORN data requires proof of U.S. citizenship and an attestation that the candidate does not hold dual citizenship.
