Software Engineering Intern (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, United States; full-time, in-person work in the San Francisco office is required five days a week during Summer 2027.

What you will do

• Join the software team in standups, design reviews, planning, code reviews, and engineering discussions.
• Own a scoped project from design through implementation, testing, and delivery with mentorship from senior engineers.
• Contribute to flight software, simulation, test infrastructure, or internal engineering tools.
• Test software on flight computers, embedded microprocessors, and engine hardware.
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code with unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, propulsion, and controls engineers; debug issues across embedded and real-time systems; present the completed work.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a Science discipline.
• Experience with C++, Rust, Python, or another programming language through coursework, projects, research, or prior internships.
• Solid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Familiarity with Git and software testing practices.
• Ambition to work in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of work.
• Availability for a full-time, in-person internship in San Francisco during Summer 2027, approximately 10–12 weeks.
