2027 Summer Internship (US) - Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Hybrid work, 3 days per week in the Lincolnshire, Illinois or Holtsville, New York office; US work authorization required without current or future sponsorship

Salary: USD $34.00–$44.50 per hour

What you will do

• Support customer engagements involving data discovery, data understanding, data transformations, feature engineering, model development, and model explainability.
• Contribute to the design, development, deployment, and user training of Agentic AI utilities and toolsets.
• Improve models after SaaS solutions are deployed in customer production environments.
• Perform root-cause diagnostics, model experimentation, external and internal data enrichment, and feature enrichment.
• Build knowledge of retail and CPG industries and the business workflows supported by Workcloud solutions.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
• Anticipated graduation date between 2027 and 2029.
• Authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS, including resource optimization.
• Experience or familiarity with Databricks, Spark, Delta Live Tables, Medallion data architecture, Unity Catalog, Delta Share, MLflow, and parallel or distributed computing.
• Exposure to TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost, TiDE, DenseNet, TimesGPT, Chronos, NBEATSx, SHAP, or Ray.
• Familiarity with time-series data and retail or CPG use cases such as demand forecasting, inventory allocation, assortment and merchandise planning, size and pack optimization, retail shrink or fraud detection, anomaly detection, workforce management, scheduling, and task optimization.
• Clear verbal and written communication, adaptability, learning agility, basic Microsoft Office proficiency, basic familiarity with technology solutions, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality.
