Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Headquarters in Mannheim, Germany; company locations also include Fürth, Germany. Mobile office and flexible working time models are available.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning, predictive analytics, optimization, generative AI, and agentic AI solutions for complex business challenges.
• Lead end-to-end AI product development from problem definition and experimentation through production deployment and monitoring.
• Build solutions with Python, PySpark, Databricks, Microsoft Azure, CI/CD, and MLOps practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to identify data-driven decision-making and AI adoption opportunities.
• Ensure model quality, reliability, explainability, compliance, and alignment with governance standards.
• Mentor junior data scientists and evaluate new AI technologies, frameworks, and development approaches.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Several years of practical experience designing, developing, and deploying data science solutions in production environments.
• Strong Python proficiency and experience with modern data science ecosystems, machine learning frameworks, and distributed data processing technologies.
• Experience with cloud-based AI development, preferably Microsoft Azure, including APIs, version control, CI/CD, and DevOps.
• Strong expertise in statistical modeling and machine learning, including relevant experience with generative and agentic AI.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in agile, cross-functional teams, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Professional proficiency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, supply chain, logistics, or pricing domains.
• German language skills.
