Junior Pricing Data Scientist (Insurance)

What you will do

• Work with pricing colleagues on scoped analytical and data-driven projects, taking on increasing responsibility.
• Apply mathematical, statistical, and machine learning techniques to practical insurance pricing questions.
• Connect analysis to the business decision it informs.
• Explain findings clearly, update colleagues across the business, and follow up on agreed actions.
• Use feedback to improve data science methods, coding practices, and commercial understanding.

Requirements

• Strong academic record and a research master's or PhD in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, or econometrics.
• Experience applying quantitative methods or machine learning to a practical problem through studies, research, a personal project, or work.
• Ability to explain how an approach fits the problem rather than relying on theory alone.
• Willingness to learn, seek feedback, build independence, communicate rationale and findings clearly, keep colleagues informed, and take ownership of agreed actions.

Nice to have

• Industry experience through a placement, internship, experience while studying, or experience between a research master's and PhD.
