Hirify AI/Оригинал
TL;DR
Mission Systems Engineer (Autonomous Aircraft): Defining and integrating mission systems architecture for an autonomous collaborative aircraft with an accent on sensor payloads, weapon interfaces, secure datalinks, and tactical AI autonomy. Focus on open-systems architecture, contested-RF datalink integration, human-on-the-loop safety, HIL simulation, and flight-test validation.
Location: Onsite in Montreal, Canada; Ottawa is the headquarters location.
Company
hirify.global develops Dominion Scout, an autonomous collaborative aircraft designed to operate alongside fighter jets and multi-mission aircraft for the Canadian Armed Forces and allied platforms.
What you will do
Define and manage end-to-end mission systems architecture, including WOSA/MOSA compliance and interchangeable payload interfaces.
Integrate AESA radar, IRST, EW sensors, weapon interfaces, secure datalinks, and tactical AI autonomy kernels.
Work with AI/ML teams on sensor fusion, automated target recognition, target tracking, weapon assignment, HOTL safety architecture, and ROE enforcement.
Lead trade studies and interface definition for air-to-air sensors, EW suites, effectors, and missile interfaces.
Integrate Link 16 and next-generation directional datalinks for collaborative sensing and cooperative engagement.
Lead system integration testing, HIL simulation in AuraSim, and flight-test campaigns validating air-to-air mission capability.
Requirements
Mission systems or avionics systems engineering experience on a military air platform through integration and test.
Hands-on integration experience with combat sensors such as radar, IRST, or EW, including understanding how outputs support fusion and targeting.
Experience defining architecture and interfaces in an open-systems environment such as WOSA, MOSA, or equivalent.
Working knowledge of tactical datalinks, including Link 16, and contested RF operating constraints.
Experience leading HIL, system integration lab, or flight testing and converting results into architecture changes.
Ability to work effectively with AI/ML engineers on autonomy integration and with operators on mission requirements.
No defence background is required; candidates do not need to meet every listed requirement.
Nice to have
Weapon integration experience, including stores management, effector interfaces, or air-to-air missile integration.
Manned-unmanned teaming or collaborative combat aircraft program experience.
LPI/LPD communications and directional datalink design experience.
Background in sensor fusion, automated target recognition, or tracking algorithms.
Experience with autonomy safety architectures, HOTL design, or ROE enforcement in weapon systems.
Experience integrating allied-sourced sensors, datalinks, or effectors onto a new platform.
Culture & Benefits
Full-time onsite role with direct work on defence capability for the Canadian Armed Forces and allied platforms.
High-trust environment with short feedback loops, rapid iteration, and decisions that ship.
Direct collaboration with operators and access to leadership, with impact from day one.
Competitive base salary, company equity, and comprehensive health benefits.
Additional equity may be granted based on impact; equity is available to full-time employees only.
AI tools support parts of screening and response review, while final hiring decisions are made by people under applicable Canadian privacy and employment laws.
