Product Owner (AI Innovation)

Location: Fully remote, with flexible working hours and the ability to work from any location worldwide; availability during EU hours required.

hirify.global develops hirify.global OS and Imunify360 security products for the web hosting industry and operates an innovation team for new product concepts.

What you will do

• Lead the pipeline of product concepts, including sizing, prioritization, assumption tracking, success criteria, and weekly reporting to the CPO.
• Take funded concepts to working MVPs, typically within one quarter, with named customers or design partners testing them.
• Build prototypes and demo stands, review designs and code, and select the fastest credible build approach using buy, borrow, open-source, or custom development.
• Ensure MVPs are production-worthy on customer servers, including packaging, safe rollout, rollback, and observability.
• Make evidence-based go/no-go decisions, transfer proven products to product lines, and document learnings from unsuccessful concepts.
• Lead and grow a small distributed team through 1:1s, goal setting, performance reviews, hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and async working agreements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading a small team with people responsibility as a team lead, tech lead, founder, or engineering manager, in a product company or startup.
• Track record of taking at least one product from concept to first paying customers and stopping one product that did not work.
• Strong Linux proficiency at software-engineer level; ability to build and review code in Python, Go, or TypeScript and debug live systems on the box.
• Practical product discovery skills, including customer interviews, assumption mapping, pricing experiments, and direct analysis of usage and conversion data.
• Ability to quickly master complex technical domains and make credible architectural decisions.
• Demonstrated people leadership, including 1:1s, performance conversations, hiring, and engineer development.
• Experience with agentic or AI-assisted development workflows.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Availability to work EU hours.

Nice to have

• Experience with the web hosting ecosystem, including cPanel/WHM, Plesk, DirectAdmin, or infrastructure for a hosting provider.
• Background in security products such as runtime protection, web application firewalls, malware detection, vulnerability management, or patching.
• Experience with freemium or product-led growth models and self-serve billing.
• Familiarity with Node.js or Python runtimes and their package ecosystems.
• Confidence presenting to customers and at industry events.
