What you will do

• Audit banking databases, event streams, and feature stores for AI readiness, including completeness, latency, structure, and pipeline bottlenecks.
• Evaluate Generative AI, RAG, agentic, and predictive ML use cases for data availability, volume, privacy, and real-time access feasibility.
• Define feature schemas, context architectures, and data pipeline contracts for AI models and delivery squads.
• Establish responsible AI data governance covering usage rights, consent, PII masking, tokenization, lineage, bias mitigation, UAE PDPL, and Central Bank rules.
• Ensure mobile, internet banking, and digital onboarding telemetry supports predictive analytics, personalization, and AI agents.
• Assure SteerCo AI content, challenge unrealistic estimates, diagnose data-related delays, and present recommendations to senior client stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of technology leadership across data architecture, data science, or AI platform delivery, including 4+ years leading data foundations or governance for AI/ML initiatives in consultancies or enterprise banks.
• Experience delivering data platforms or AI use cases in Retail Banking environments.
• Experience using mobile interaction telemetry and digital customer journey data for real-time AI, personalization, or predictive decisioning.
• Deep expertise in feature store design, RAG vector embeddings, synthetic data generation, real-time Kafka event streaming, and ML pipeline data quality monitoring.
• World-class verbal, written, and visual communication skills, including translating complex data science concepts into executive narratives.
• Ability to present to C-level executives, challenge unviable AI claims, and defend governance controls under scrutiny.

Nice to have

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty, Azure AI Engineer Associate, Databricks Certified ML Professional, or recognized AI governance and ethics credentials.
• Experience leading AI data initiatives for major financial institutions in the UAE or GCC region.
