Staff Behavioral Scientist (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States, at the Westwood, Massachusetts headquarters, or a mix of both.

What you will do

• Apply industrial-organizational psychology, assessment science, team dynamics, leadership, engagement, and job fit to product, positioning, and research decisions.
• Design and validate psychometric instruments, scales, and scoring models.
• Conduct applied research with pilot customers, including criterion and construct validation, efficacy studies, and norm development.
• Translate peer-reviewed I/O and organizational behavior research into product features, UX, and go-to-market messaging.
• Own technical manuals, validity evidence, white papers, and the scientific defensibility of venture claims.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent applied experience in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Psychometrics, or a closely related field.
• Deep hands-on experience with psychometric development, including scale construction, IRT or CTT, validation design, and norm development.
• Experience conducting applied validation research in real organizational settings, beyond academic laboratories.
• Ability to translate rigorous science into language that product teams can build from and buyers can trust.
• Comfort working where the research agenda, product roadmap, and go-to-market strategy are still being defined.
• Passion for using AI across the work; the team expects members to use modern tools to sharpen thinking, move faster, and extend team capacity.
• Builder’s mindset and willingness to cover responsibilities beyond the formal title in a lean, fast-moving team.
