Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote-first from Europe or the US East Coast; must be able to operate in GMT-5 to GMT+1 time zones. Office options are available in London, New York, Dublin, Amsterdam, and Warsaw.

What you will do

• Build systems that combine human expertise and AI for managed media-production workflows.
• Develop the human data platform, including task editors, evaluation tools, reliability improvements, misuse detection, and data-quality metrics.
• Build and maintain backend services for core production workflows and lead projects when appropriate.
• Develop professional editor tools in Rust, combining UI systems with systems-level engineering.
• Own a defined technical scope and deliver production systems and infrastructure with limited hand-holding.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience, ideally with functional programming languages such as Rust, together with a full-stack focus on designing UI systems.
• Experience shipping and operating production systems end to end.
• Experience making systems reliable and scalable, including internal platforms, workflow or task engines, or data pipelines.
• Ability to switch between building new tools or editors and hardening the underlying platform.
• Ability to defend technical ideas, take ownership, and handle unglamorous implementation work.

Nice to have

• Experience building editor or UI-heavy professional tools with a systems-level understanding of their underlying technology.
• Experience with data labelling or annotation platforms, or with managing crowdsourced workforces.
