Backend Developer (Kotlin)

Andersen is hiring a Backend Developer (Kotlin) in Kazakhstan to build scalable backend solutions and support international digital projects across multiple industries.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain a microservices architecture for a next-generation business banking mobile application.
• Optimize database performance, queries, and manage infrastructure deployment.
• Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor team members, and design architecture from scratch.
• Integrate modern technologies and manage the migration of corporate clients from legacy platforms.

Requirements

• Must be based in Kazakhstan.
• Level of English - from Intermediate+ and above.
• Level of Russian - from Advanced and above.
• 3+ years of experience in Backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java (Coroutines, Flow, Collections, Generics, Stream API).
• Deep understanding of multithreading, JVM internals, and performance tuning.
• Extensive experience with Spring Framework (Boot, Data, AOP, Dependency Injection).
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL, and REST API design.
• Proven production experience with Kafka, Docker, and advanced Git workflows.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Micrometer).
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Experience with testing practices (JUnit, Kotest, MockK, Testcontainers).

Nice to have

• Experience with Java 17+, Spring WebFlux, and Spring Security (OAuth2, JWT).
• Knowledge of database scaling, Redis, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with distributed tracing, event-driven architecture, and contract testing.
• Experience with Camunda BPM or background in fintech/banking systems.
• Knowledge of database migration tools like Liquibase or Flyway.
