EW Systems Engineer (Electronic Warfare)

Location: Porton Down, Salisbury (SP4), United Kingdom; permanent, full-time and on-site

Salary: £40,000–£65,000 DOE per year

What you will do

• Deliver Systems Engineering across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements capture and system design through integration, verification and validation.
• Work directly with Dstl scientists, engineers and military end users to translate operational challenges into robust engineering solutions.
• Elicit and evolve user requirements and capture them in structured documentation and models.
• Apply Systems Engineering best practice to support delivery and keep solutions aligned with changing operational needs.
• Act as a technical point of contact for scientists, mathematicians and physicists on future Electronic Warfare developments.
• Support in-field trials across the UK and internationally and contribute to current and next-generation defence technologies.

Requirements

• Experience delivering Systems Engineering across the engineering lifecycle.
• Experience with requirements management using DOORS, Enterprise Architect or similar tools.
• Experience producing Systems Engineering documentation.
• Experience in verification, validation and acceptance testing.
• Experience engaging technical and operational stakeholders.
• High-level understanding of Electronic Warfare principles or exposure to EW-related systems.
• Must be a UK National, eligible to work in the UK and eligible to obtain and maintain UK Government SC-level security clearance.

Nice to have

• Model-Based Systems Engineering, including SysML or UML.
• Coding experience with JavaScript or MATLAB/Simulink.
• Defence industry experience, particularly in Electronic Warfare.
• Experience with EW systems in the Armed Forces, including operational, maintenance, support or acquisition work; service leavers are encouraged to apply.
