Company

Klarna operates an everyday finance network serving consumers across 26 countries and develops AI-enabled financial products.

What you will do

  • Own consumer underwriting for Poland, including policy, strategy, models, approval, decline, and pricing decisions.
  • Analyse Polish consumer credit risk using SQL, AI tooling, credit bureau data, and large datasets.
  • Shape purchase-power and pre-qualification logic for Klarna’s App and One Card products.
  • Balance approval rates, portfolio health, and customer experience.
  • Monitor Polish bureau data and identify sourcing or model-quality issues.
  • Convert analysis into policy changes and present performance and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in consumer credit underwriting or credit risk strategy at a bank, consumer finance lender, or BNPL provider; banking or lending experience is essential.
  • End-to-end ownership of underwriting decisions, from policy rules, scorecards, or strategies through monitoring, with demonstrated business impact.
  • Strong knowledge of credit bureau data, repayment behaviour, and credit risk modelling; Polish-market experience is preferred.
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working directly with large, messy datasets; ability to quickly adopt AI tooling.
  • Methodical approach to resolving ambiguous or inconsistent policy logic and identifying root causes.
  • Fluent Polish and comfortable working in English, Klarna’s working language.
  • Ability to explain complex data to senior, non-specialist audiences and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience leading or mentoring analysts, or clear readiness to begin doing so.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Polish consumer credit bureau data and the Polish market.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time role with a co-located, collaborative working model.
  • Most teams currently meet in the office 2–3 days per week; this may vary by team and change over time.
  • Diverse skills, perspectives, and backgrounds are welcomed.
  • Final compensation depends on qualifications, skills, and experience.
  • The position may be finalized as either Analytics Manager or Data Scientist depending on the candidate’s background.

Hiring process

  • Submit a CV in English.
  • The exact title will be agreed after the candidate’s experience is assessed.
