Staff Software QA Engineer (SaaS)

What you will do

• Own cross-team quality strategy, automation architecture, and risk-based coverage for distributed, multi-tenant SaaS services, APIs, SDKs, and integration surfaces.
• Design reusable automation frameworks, test libraries, service simulators, and deterministic test-data capabilities for parallel execution.
• Embed unit, integration, contract, API, end-to-end, and regression testing into CI/CD pipelines with actionable quality gates.
• Lead performance, scalability, robustness, and resilience validation, including load, stress, spike, soak, capacity, failure, recovery, and partial-outage testing.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Development, Security, and Cloud Operations to validate identity, authorization, tenant isolation, evidence integrity, content provenance, upgrades, migrations, and rollback readiness.
• Lead defect investigations and root-cause analysis, define quality reporting, influence release decisions, and mentor quality and software engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of professional software quality engineering or software development experience, including hands-on automation and cross-team technical leadership.
• Advanced programming skills in at least one modern language and experience designing scalable, maintainable automation frameworks rather than relying only on record-and-playback tools.
• Deep experience testing cloud-native SaaS platforms at scale, including distributed systems, APIs, asynchronous workflows, multi-tenancy, and production operations.
• Expertise in performance, scalability, and resilience testing, including realistic workload design, bottleneck analysis, and production telemetry interpretation.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, containers, test-environment orchestration, test-data management, service virtualization, and automated quality gates.
• Ability to lead ambiguous technical initiatives across teams, communicate risk clearly, and influence architecture and release decisions without positional authority.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity, PKI, cryptography, OAuth 2.x, mTLS, workload identity, HSM-backed services, authorization, or tamper-evident evidence systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, fault injection, chaos testing, and high-availability SaaS architectures.
• Experience with Chaos Monkey or equivalent fault-injection tooling.
• Familiarity with agentic AI, MCP, nondeterministic workflows, continuous authentication, or content provenance testing.
• Experience producing traceable verification evidence for regulated or security-sensitive products and third-party assurance requirements.
