Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure)

Location: Remote from anywhere in the U.S.

What you will do

• Deliver reliable build and deployment services and provide server infrastructure administration support to engineering teams.
• Maintain regression-testing infrastructure for annual, hotfix, and patch releases.
• Build and maintain reliable YAML-based CI/CD pipelines, including shared build services such as artifact storage and VM scale sets.
• Own automated release pipelines and release documentation for annual releases, hotfixes, and patches.
• Automate recurring operational tasks and improve deployment and upgrade workflows.
• Troubleshoot defects and client-specific issues, and participate in second-line on-call support after gaining sufficient experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field.
• 5 years of experience in the offered role or as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar senior software engineering position.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies in Azure, Azure DevOps, GitHub workflows, YAML-based CI/CD automation, and Azure Storage.
• Experience deploying infrastructure with Azure Bicep templates and Terraform.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting, including reusable and modular functions.
• Experience with Azure networking, including VNETs, Public IPs, Private Endpoints, Application Gateway, and Azure Firewall.
• Experience with Azure security services including Key Vault, NSGs, Azure AD, Managed Identities, and Service Principals.
• Experience with observability and monitoring using logs, metrics, and traces, including troubleshooting network trace logs.
• Experience deploying and managing Virtual Machines, IIS, Hyper-V, certificate management, VM Scale Sets, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with SQL query writing and SQL Server configuration, NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch, XEvent, and SQL Profiler.
