Staff Global Supply Manager (Solar, Energy Storage)

Location: Fully on-site at 100 Hooper in San Francisco, California, United States; approximately 10–25% international travel to supplier sites.

Salary: $162,500–$215,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop and direct sourcing strategies for solar cells, modules, and related components, including supplier landscape assessment, make-versus-buy, dual sourcing, and localization.
• Track tariffs, duties, production credits, and other U.S. and international factors affecting solar commodities.
• Identify, qualify, and develop strategic suppliers.
• Lead RFQ and RFP processes, negotiate commercial and technical terms, and establish master supply agreements, statements of work, and pricing agreements.
• Build should-cost and total-cost-of-ownership models to support negotiations and reduce landed cost.
• Guide Engineering and Manufacturing through supplier readiness, production ramps, supplier performance issues, and supply risks across the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of sourcing or supply chain management experience, or 6+ years with a master’s degree, ideally in solar, energy, EV, or electronics manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of solar cell and module manufacturers and the global solar supplier landscape.
• Working knowledge of solar cell and module manufacturing processes, cost drivers, and process constraints.
• Experience building cost models and negotiating commercial and technical supplier terms using should-cost fundamentals.
• Experience developing commodity strategies and sourcing agreements for new products moving from development to volume production.
• Ability to travel internationally to supplier sites approximately 10–25% of the time.
