Senior Director, Software Engineering (Mobile)

Location: US Remote

Salary: $290,800–$436,200 USD annually for Zone 1 locations (CA, CT, DC, MD, MA, NJ, NY, VA, WA); $271,800–$407,600 USD annually for other US locations. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Lead the mobile engineering organization through engineering managers, owning processes, priorities, and long-term goals.
• Own application performance, reliability, release quality, and a predictable release cadence.
• Drive modernization of native iOS and Android applications while maintaining current app stability.
• Set engineering direction with Product, Design, and hirify.global leadership, focusing work on business outcomes and product innovation.
• Mentor Senior Engineering Managers and Engineering Managers, and partner with Recruiting to hire mobile engineering talent.
• Communicate with engineers, Product Managers, executives, customers, and partners.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineering organizations and managing managers.
• Track record of shipping reliable, high-scale mobile applications on both iOS and Android on a predictable cadence.
• Expert-level knowledge of mobile platforms, app development, mobile performance, and reliability.
• Experience owning mobile quality standards, including crash-free and startup-time goals, production monitoring, staged rollouts, release gates, and test-automation strategy.
• Experience leading significant mobile platform modernization or re-architecture.
• Strong technical credibility in architecture and design decisions, plus strong communication and technical writing skills.
• B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
