Information Security Specialist (Senior-Level)

Location: Non-remote position at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, United States; relocation incentive available.

Salary: USD 80,000–100,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Conduct security assessments, risk analyses, vulnerability management, remediation planning, and compliance reporting.
• Lead RMF implementation, security authorization, accreditation, ATO, POA&M, and eMASS activities.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, security documentation, and information assurance requirements.
• Review and validate security controls against NIST, CNSSI, DoD, and Army requirements; support audits, inspections, and accreditation packages.
• Collaborate with engineers, system administrators, cybersecurity teams, and Government stakeholders to improve enterprise security posture.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and cybersecurity guidance while supporting modernization, cloud adoption, and CPE Aviation initiatives.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• 8+ years of experience supporting cybersecurity, information assurance, or information security programs, including RMF, vulnerability management, accreditation, and compliance programs.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification or higher, such as CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent.
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102).
• Experience supporting enterprise-level information systems and cybersecurity operations.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies, requirements, and best practices.
• Experience developing and maintaining cybersecurity documentation and compliance artifacts.
• Baseline certification must be obtained within six months of hire if not already held.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, IT Service Management, or a related technical discipline.
• Advanced certifications such as CYSA+, CASP+, CISSP, or CISM.
• Microsoft certifications for Windows 10, Windows 11, Microsoft 365, or Endpoint Administration.
• Experience with ACAS, Trellix, vulnerability management platforms, security assessment tools, eMASS, RMF package development, and cybersecurity authorization activities.
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253, DISA STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
• Experience supporting DoD environments, mission-critical systems, and high-visibility customers.
• Experience with knowledge management, process improvement, documentation development, or leading small teams.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, organizational, prioritization, and collaboration skills.
