Senior Flight Software Engineer II - Secret Clearance

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; headquarters-based onsite role.

Base pay range: $151,000–$227,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop application software for RTOS and/or embedded Linux environments.
• Develop hardware drivers for IMUs, star trackers, reaction wheels, and other spacecraft sensors and actuators.
• Build and maintain unit tests within a continuous integration framework.
• Collaborate with hardware-in-the-loop test engineers to verify and validate combined software and hardware functionality.
• Work with systems and embedded systems engineers on requirements development, documentation, validation, and design reviews.
• Review source code changes, enforce coding standards, and assist with on-orbit and interplanetary flight operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Active Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• 8+ years of applicable embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with RTOS or embedded Linux.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
• For U.S. office work, eligibility under U.S. Government ITAR export regulations is required.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Advanced degree.
• Experience with CAN/CAN-FD and/or UDP/TCP in embedded systems.
• Experience developing software for autonomous vehicles operating in harsh environments, such as satellites.
