Director of Infrastructure

What you will do

• Define infrastructure strategy, standards, roadmaps, priorities, and trade-offs for reliable and scalable systems.
• Own macOS and Linux fleets, developer infrastructure, code review systems, provisioning, configuration management, observability, and lifecycle operations.
• Run data pipelines, data engineering systems, billing infrastructure, and other business-critical services.
• Lead multi-cloud expansion, elastic compute capacity, resource utilization, cost efficiency, and potential data-center warehouse development for Mac and Linux fleets.
• Lead reliability, performance, availability, incident response, troubleshooting, and on-call rotations while contributing directly to architecture, implementation, and debugging.
• Partner with engineering and product, mentor engineers, and build secure platforms and paved paths that improve delivery velocity.

Requirements

• Strong low-level depth in at least one area such as operating systems, cloud, or Kubernetes, with the ability to troubleshoot across infrastructure layers.
• Track record of leading infrastructure initiatives while writing code, debugging systems, and resolving operational challenges directly rather than only delegating.
• Strong experience managing and scaling Linux and macOS fleets, including provisioning, automation, configuration management, reliability, and lifecycle operations.
• Significant experience building scalable cloud infrastructure, including elastic capacity and resource utilization.
• Familiarity with developer infrastructure, code review systems, and internal platforms that help engineering teams build and ship efficiently.
• Ability to lead across data pipelines, billing systems, and other business-critical services with strong technical judgment.
• Significant experience with on-call rotations, incident management, root-cause analysis, monitoring, and production reliability improvement.
• Ability to anticipate infrastructure needs, set technical direction, prioritize work, and communicate decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience thriving in a lean, fast-moving environment while balancing strategic planning with direct technical execution and adapting to changing priorities.
