Associate Operations Support Specialist (Manufacturing)

Salary: $59,450–$91,150 per year

What you will do

• Guide build plans, including manufacturing methods, process sequences, tooling plans, layouts, and related techniques.
• Develop labor-hour estimates, tooling concepts, and build concepts for new bid proposals.
• Develop quality- and cost-effective production methods, standards, and systems using production engineering principles.
• Apply quality, industrial, and manufacturing engineering practices while coordinating with engineering, management, lean, tooling, and operations teams.
• Monitor industry best practices, lead or participate in long-range technical research, and implement improvements.
• Provide guidance to less-experienced manufacturing support staff.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support, or a bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access; U.S. citizenship is required by the U.S. Government.
• Ability to obtain an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance after starting.
• Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
• The position is union-represented.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree.
• SAP, manufacturing or shop-floor experience, lean and Six Sigma experience, and continuous improvement experience.
• Understanding of RCCA, business-case preparation, and process improvement.
• Strong communication and listening skills, willingness to learn, and ability to align senior leadership while coaching frontline teams.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly-related drawings and blueprints and work cross-functionally.
• Strong analytical and data-management skills with proficiency in Excel, Tableau, and Smartsheet.
