Senior Data & AI Platform Engineer (Databricks)

What you will do

• Design the data access architecture for applications, APIs, AI agents, and MCPs on Databricks.
• Define secure, reusable Data Services, APIs, SQL, functions, MCP patterns, contracts, and versioning.
• Implement authentication and authorization while preserving consumer identity, context, and permissions.
• Integrate access layers with Unity Catalog, policies, masking, governance controls, models, agents, APIs, and internal or external platforms.
• Ensure traceability and auditability of users, services, agents, and queried resources.
• Build reusable components and define Data-to-AI standards with Architecture, Security, Governance, Development, and AI stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data platform architecture or engineering, integration, or distributed services.
• Production experience with Databricks and Unity Catalog.
• Experience designing and implementing APIs and services using OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, and service principals.
• Practical knowledge of generative AI, including agents, LLMs, tool/function calling, and MCP.
• Ability to lead technically and define standards with high autonomy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across Architecture, Security, Governance, Development, and AI teams.
• Degree in Engineering, Systems, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI services on Databricks.
• Experience with API Management platforms.
• Experience with data governance frameworks and tooling.
• Experience in banking, financial, or other regulated environments.
• Technical English communication skills at intermediate level or higher.
