AI/ML Engineer (Python/LLM)

What you will do

• Build and refine ML engineering platforms, scalable backend systems, APIs, and microservices with FastAPI, Python, SQL, and asynchronous programming.
• Deploy and operationalize machine learning, deep learning, LLM, and generative AI models, including Azure OpenAI and GPT-4 Vision integrations.
• Implement MLOps capabilities for KPI measurement, experiment and model tracking, drift detection, feedback loops, continuous training, and model serving.
• Design and orchestrate feature engineering, inference, asynchronous task, and complex model pipelines using tools such as Celery or similar technologies.
• Build RAG and LLM workflow capabilities, including prompt versioning, fallback mechanisms, observability, token and cost tracking, and latency monitoring.
• Develop maintainable, testable production code; collaborate with client-facing teams, document APIs, participate in design reviews and agile ceremonies, and troubleshoot systems using structured logging and distributed tracing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years of strong Python coding experience and advanced knowledge of async/await, type hints, Pydantic, and SOLID principles.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with machine learning and production LLM systems.
• 3+ years of experience building backend APIs with FastAPI, asynchronous patterns, rate limiting, and SQLAlchemy.
• Experience designing maintainable and extensible systems with dependency injection, interfaces, abstract base classes, and layered architecture.
• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or Chroma, hybrid search, and RAG architectures including retrieval, reranking, context assembly, and response generation.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, and Hugging Face for building and orchestrating LLM workflows.
• Experience with MLOps, including MLflow, model versioning, and A/B testing; experience in NLP and computer vision, including document understanding, OCR, and GPT-4 Vision.
• Experience building feature pipelines, real-time and batch inference systems, model serving, and production-ready code with unit and higher-level tests.
• Familiarity with SQL and strong problem-solving skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice to have

• DevOps and CI/CD experience with Docker, Azure DevOps pipelines or GitHub Actions, and Kubernetes.
• Data security experience, including multi-tenant data isolation, Azure Key Vault, secure key management, and audit trails.
• Cloud architecture experience with Azure, especially Azure OpenAI, Blob Storage, Key Vault, and Container Registry; AWS or GCP experience is also useful.
• Big Data engineering experience with large-scale processing and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with Langfuse, LlamaIndex, rate limiting and quota management, LLM cost optimization, prompt caching, batch processing, and token optimization.
• Document processing expertise, including PDF extraction and OCR tooling.
• Production incident management, on-call experience, and testing strategies for non-deterministic LLM outputs.
• Domain knowledge in regulated industries such as healthcare or pharmaceuticals, including regulatory compliance.
