Postdoctoral Research Associate (Biomechanics)

What you will do

• Manage and coordinate externally funded occupational health research projects across field and laboratory settings.
• Develop research protocols using motion capture systems, IMUs, force plates, load cells, wearable sensors, electromyography, and biomechanical analysis software.
• Lead project data collection and analysis, train research staff and students, and mentor students on lab research projects.
• Develop research proposals based on independent research interests and contribute to externally funded projects.
• Prepare manuscripts and disseminate results through conference proceedings, presentations, and peer-reviewed journal papers.
• Provide administrative oversight for lab operations, including budgets, IRB matters, procurement, and collaborator meetings.

Requirements

• PhD in Environmental and Occupational Health, Biomechanics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Expertise in 3-D motion capture systems and biomechanical modeling using OpenSim, Visual 3D, or Anybody.
• Knowledge of computer vision and IMU-based motion capture.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, programming, interpersonal, written and verbal communication, problem-solving, professionalism, and attention-to-detail skills.
• At least 3 years of laboratory experience.
• Experience with machine learning and deep learning modeling.
• Experience with survey data collection and analysis.
