Senior Systems Administration (Linux)

Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, United States; full-time onsite work five days per week. No relocation is offered.

Salary: $106,100–$159,100 USD annually.

What you will do

• Operate, administer, maintain, and monitor 24x7 server infrastructure in the Network Cloud Linux environment.
• Deploy software, operating system, BIOS/firmware, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other platform updates.
• Create, review, approve, and implement changes across the Network Cloud server environment.
• Restore applications and services during hardware, operating system, OpenStack, outage, and service-degradation scenarios.
• Perform feasibility assessments, define requirements, manage projects, and integrate and test technical solutions.
• Coordinate with operating-system, hardware, development, production-support, and customer teams on troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and replacements.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of related experience in a production environment, including 24x7x365 operations and night or weekend shifts.
• 5 years of Linux systems administration experience and 5 years of Dell and HP x86 hardware break/fix experience.
• 1–3 years of Kubernetes experience, Jenkins pipeline execution and merging, and GitHub repository management.
• Broad experience with Linux, KVM, OpenStack, Kubernetes, containers, cloud infrastructure platforms, and server infrastructure monitoring.
• Operational experience with OpenStack modules including Keystone, Nova, Neutron, Swift, Cinder, Heat, Glance, Horizon, and Fuel.
• Knowledge of high availability, DRS, fault tolerance, scalability, reliability, shared resources, and Network Cloud infrastructure deployment.
• Python and shell scripting skills, CI/CD pipeline knowledge using Jenkins and GitHub, and strong analytical, logical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work rotating 24x7 shifts, coordinate across diverse regions and cultures, and communicate effectively with peers, customers, clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD and firmware upgrades, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, APIs, Ceph, OpenStack, Ansible, TCP/IP networking, Calico, and SSL/TLS certificates.
• Certification in Linux systems administration, OpenStack, or Kubernetes.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering, or Communications.
