Technician II, Research (Microbiology)

What you will do

• Perform microbiology and molecular biology experiments supporting R&D projects.
• Handle and cultivate bacterial and fungal microorganisms.
• Conduct microbiological assays, including microbial growth monitoring, MIC testing, and antagonism assays.
• Perform DNA extraction and PCR.
• Document, analyze, and communicate experimental results.
• Maintain laboratory standards, organization, and compliance while collaborating with scientists and cross-functional teams across multiple priorities.

Requirements

• Post-secondary qualification or equivalent in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field, including BTS, BUT, Professional License, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree.
• 2–5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Hands-on experience with microbiology techniques and microbial culture.
• Experience with molecular biology methods, including DNA extraction and PCR.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, independent working ability, and clear communication of results.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with stakeholders and teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in industrial, biotechnology, food, ingredient, or health sciences research environments.
• Familiarity with regulated laboratory environments or laboratory information systems.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary R&D teams.
