Software Engineering Manager (Python/AI)

Location: Remote work in Kazakhstan, with access to offices in Astana, Almaty, or Karaganda; the listing also specifies working at the employer’s location.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, motivate, and develop engineers through personal development plans and career paths.
• Build an engaged, collaborative working environment and strengthen the Python competency through skills definition and training.
• Plan project resources, hiring needs, recruitment, onboarding, schedules, and team priorities.
• Build client relationships, manage expectations, and take responsibility for delivery.
• Work with developers on requirements, review deliverables, uphold engineering standards, and resolve issues and defects on time.
• Participate in solution design and ensure alignment with business, financial, and schedule goals.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with Python.
• Knowledge and practical experience with AI-assisted development tools and AI solution engineering.
• Experience managing a team of 5+ people and resolving people-management issues.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of project management and software engineering practices.
• English at B2 or higher, spoken and written.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud solutions, preferably AWS or Azure.
