Data Architect/Engineer (AI)

Compensation: USD 110,000–USD 120,000 yearly

What you will do

• Build a greenfield data platform integrating GSCM, SEASI, SMART, and BOSS through a Medallion Architecture.
• Ingest data from Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle into Bronze using CDC-based incremental processing.
• Develop dbt-based Silver transformations and Gold business data marts, including migration of Alteryx workflows.
• Configure Apache Iceberg tables and REST Catalog capabilities, including schema evolution and time travel.
• Develop and operate Apache Airflow DAGs with dependency management, scheduling, and failure notifications.
• Develop an MCP server for AI-agent access to Gold-layer data marts, and manage metadata, lineage, and Excel reporting.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on data engineering experience in production environments.
• Bilingual Korean/English communication; English proficiency is required.
• Advanced SQL skills, including window functions, CTEs, and query tuning.
• Hands-on dbt experience with model design, incremental strategies, macros, and tests.
• Python proficiency for data processing and automation, including pandas.
• Experience developing Apache Airflow DAGs.
• Experience with at least one analytical engine: Trino/Presto, Apache Spark, or DuckDB.
• Experience with at least one lakehouse table format: Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Apache Hudi.
• Experience with Medallion Architecture, star schema/dimensional modeling, and relational database integration using CDC or batch processing.
• Technical experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Kubernetes, and MinIO.

Nice to have

• Experience with Airbyte, Fivetran, Apache Polaris, OpenMetadata, DataHub, Cube.dev, or Alteryx workflow migration.
• Experience developing MCP servers, applications, APIs, backend services, or AI-agent pipelines.
• Experience with Generative AI, LLM integration, RAG, LangChain, or LangGraph.
• Knowledge of retail and home appliance domains, including PSI and sales analytics.
• Experience with Java and/or Python application development and openpyxl.
