Data Architect (Databricks)

What you will do

• Define the vision, roadmap, KPIs, and lifecycle for AWS data products, including pipelines, data lakes, analytics dashboards, and AI/ML data features.
• Align business stakeholders, domain experts, data engineers, and data science teams around high-impact use cases and technical epics.
• Oversee architectures using AWS data services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Bedrock, and SageMaker for analytics and GenAI workloads.
• Enforce data access controls, privacy requirements, lineage, governance, and quality standards with Security and Data Governance teams.
• Lead agile delivery through acceptance criteria, user stories, backlog management, and timely product releases.
• Track usage, adoption, ROI, and user engagement to optimize data-product value.

Requirements

• Experience managing data platforms, ETL pipelines, or analytics products.
• Solid understanding of the AWS data stack, including S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Athena, QuickSight, and IAM, plus Data Lake, Lakehouse, and Data Mesh architecture patterns.
• Strong experience leading cross-functional squads with Scrum or Kanban, backlog management tools such as Jira or Linear, and clear user-story definition.
• Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools, including the ability to query data directly to validate product performance and metrics.
• Demonstrated ability to convert complex technical requirements into actionable business outcomes and executive-ready communications.

Nice to have

• Databricks Certified Consultant certification or experience migrating DBR to EMR on AWS.
• AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner or Pragmatic Institute certification.
