Data Scientist Intern - Supplier Management Analytics & AI

Location: Sant Cugat del Valles, Barcelona, Spain. The internship requires current enrollment at a university in Spain, continued enrollment through the end of the internship, and eligibility to sign an internship agreement with the university. Start: February 2027; expected participation through June–July 2027.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, executive reporting solutions, KPI, SLA, and supplier performance scorecards.
• Analyze supplier, financial, commercial, and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, spend patterns, benchmarks, and cost optimization opportunities.
• Develop prototypes with Generative AI, Microsoft Copilot, Python, and machine learning techniques, and support predictive analytics and forecasting models.
• Automate reporting, data preparation, governance activities, and other manual processes using AI and Power Platform tools.
• Support QBRs, governance reviews, executive presentations, business cases, and strategic recommendations with data-driven insights.
• Collaborate with Vendor Account Managers, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Business Management on supplier performance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Python, SQL, Microsoft Excel, and data visualization principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced global environment.
• Must be enrolled at a university in Spain, remain enrolled through the internship, and be eligible to sign a university internship agreement.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI or Microsoft Power Platform.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and exposure to Generative AI technologies.
• Knowledge of Azure, Databricks, or cloud analytics platforms.
• Understanding of procurement, supplier management, or business operations processes.
