Senior SRE DHCP & DNS

Location: Onsite at 8200 Dixie Rd, Brampton, Ontario, Canada; travel requirements up to 10%.

What you will do

• Develop production applications, tools, APIs, data-processing utilities, and automation frameworks using Python, PHP, Bash, SQL, and MySQL.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco Prime Cable Provisioning and Cisco Prime Network Registrar for DOCSIS and GPON services.
• Administer and optimize DNS, DHCP, and TFTP services, including Infoblox integrations, and perform advanced Linux administration.
• Support incident response, problem management, capacity planning, network deployments, and cross-functional engineering initiatives.
• Create Method of Procedure and Acceptance Test Plan documentation for lab and production deployments.
• Execute operating-system and application upgrades, tuning, patch management, and vendor issue resolution.

Requirements

• Strong production software development, scripting, automation, troubleshooting, and debugging experience.
• Strong Python skills for automation scripts, tools, APIs, data processing, and system integrations; hands-on PHP backend development and API integration experience.
• Strong MySQL knowledge, including database design, SQL queries, data manipulation, performance troubleshooting, and application integration.
• Advanced Linux system administration skills covering networking, security, package and service management, performance analysis, troubleshooting, and application deployment.
• Experience with VMware virtual machine deployment, configuration, maintenance, lifecycle management, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, testing, debugging, CI/CD, and DevOps or DevNetOps practices.
• Experience developing REST APIs and integrations using JSON and XML.
• Strong automation skills with Python and Bash for infrastructure, provisioning, monitoring, operational, and repetitive engineering tasks.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP and network protocols, including hands-on packet capture and protocol analysis; strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cisco Prime Cable Provisioning and Cisco Prime Network Registrar.
• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and TFTP technologies, including Infoblox solutions.
