Site Reliability Engineer (CDN/AI), Reuters

Location: Remote, United States of America, New York, New York

Salary: $110,000–$204,200 USD base compensation annually, varying by eligible US location; annual bonus may also apply.

What you will do

• Own origin and CDN provisioning for Reuters’ content platform, including domains, SSL enforcement, redirects, static and root files, and authentication headers.
• Define and track SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets; lead or contribute to blameless postmortems and drive follow-up actions to closure.
• Maintain infrastructure as code, perform capacity planning, and keep provisioning repeatable and auditable.
• Diagnose availability and performance issues using logs, metrics, and alerts as part of a global multi-timezone on-call rotation.
• Automate repetitive delivery work and use AI-assisted tooling for triage, anomaly detection, and runbook generation.
• Manage launch tickets, coordinate upgrades with internal engineering teams and external clients, and build tooling that reduces time-to-launch and configuration errors.

Requirements

• 7+ years configuring highly scalable, customer-facing applications.
• Experience with HTTP, caching, and CDNs for large-scale public sites.
• Ability to analyze application and cloud performance using logs, metrics, and alerts.
• HTML, CSS, and JavaScript experience.
• At least one server-side language: Python or Node.js.
• Infrastructure as code experience, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Ownership of system reliability and performance, an automation mindset, incident response and root-cause analysis, clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and problem-solving for large globally distributed audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience building and deploying web applications in the cloud; AWS is preferred.
• Familiarity with Akamai or comparable CDN providers.
• Experience in DevOps teams owning the full lifecycle of their services.
• Comfort working across a global, multi-timezone team.
• Interest in automation, including exposure to AI-assisted operational tooling.
