Data Scientist Manager (AI/ML)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States; hybrid with at least four days per week in the office and one day working from home

Base salary: $107,000–$147,100 per year, plus potential variable compensation.

What you will do

• Design and implement AI, machine learning, statistical analysis, forecasting, predictive modeling, and GenAI solutions for client and advisor analytics.
• Translate ambiguous business needs into analytical approaches, success measures, hypotheses, insights, and recommendations.
• Own the data science and AI lifecycle from data exploration and feature engineering through model development, validation, deployment, monitoring, and improvement.
• Lead the strategy and enhancement of a field-facing recommendation engine supporting personalization, prioritization, and business decisions.
• Apply data, model, AI governance, responsible AI, validation, documentation, and performance-monitoring standards.
• Advance data science practices, identify scalable and automated solutions, mentor peers, and collaborate with product, technology, and business teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience delivering advanced analytics, machine learning, or applied AI solutions.
• Strong foundation in statistics, predictive modeling, and machine learning.
• Experience with modern data science tools, data visualization tools, and programming languages including Python, SQL, and machine learning frameworks.
• Experience with cloud-based platforms, preferably AWS or Snowflake.
• Ability to independently own complex problems and deliver production-ready solutions.
• Ability to communicate complex technical material to support decision-making and work effectively with less technical partners.
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment and support multiple projects simultaneously.
• Valid United States work authorization is required without current or future visa sponsorship needs, including H-1B, F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, or TN.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs, Agentic AI, RAG, and traditional AI techniques.
• Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD for models, and production monitoring.
• Experience using large-scale data sets.
• Experience with financial advisor, client, or customer analytics.
• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
