Research Fellow – Wellcome UK Social Media Restrictions

Salary: £47,389–£51,753 per annum depending on experience

hirify.global is an education and research institution conducting a Wellcome-funded study on the impact of UK social media restrictions on young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

What you will do

• Coordinate participant recruitment and data collection for ecological momentary assessment and interviews.
• Conduct qualitative and/or quantitative analyses with other researchers.
• Coordinate outputs including evidence briefings, peer-reviewed articles, blogs, and infographics.
• Liaise with stakeholders and the steering committee to support study delivery.
• Manage junior staff.

Requirements

• PhD in a relevant field such as psychology, epidemiology, public health, economics, or social sciences.
• Demonstrable skills in advanced quantitative analysis, including causal inference, longitudinal analysis, or ecological momentary assessment data, and/or qualitative data analysis such as thematic analysis.
• Demonstrable skills using statistical programming or software such as R, Stata, or MPlus, and/or qualitative software such as NVivo.
• Demonstrable experience managing research projects or substantial project workstreams.
• Demonstrable experience managing, supervising, and supporting staff.

Nice to have

• Experience working within or in close partnership with policy-making bodies, government departments, and/or non-governmental organizations.
• Experience with natural-experiment and/or quasi-experimental research, including difference-in-differences, interrupted time-series, or related causal inference designs.
