Director of Platform Engineering (AI): Leading the platform group that builds and operates the cloud infrastructure, core platform services, backend systems, developer experience, security, and AI infrastructure powering Riverside's audio and video production platform with an accent on reliability, scalability, cost efficiency, and security. Focus on setting the platform roadmap, developing multi-team engineering leadership, making complex technical decisions, and shaping infrastructure for AI agents.

Location: Tel Aviv-Yafo, Tel Aviv District, Israel

What you will do

Lead the Platform Engineering group across Backend Engineering, Developer Experience, Platform, DevOps, Security, and AI infrastructure through team leads.
Own the reliability, scalability, cost, and security of cloud infrastructure and core platform services used by millions of creators.
Set the platform roadmap with the VP of R&D and balance platform priorities with product-team needs.
Hire, develop, and coach team leads and engineers while shaping the structure and operating model of the group.
Collaborate with R&D, Product, and business teams to remove blockers and align on priorities.
Participate in design reviews, investigate incidents, make difficult technical decisions, and help shape AI infrastructure and engineering practices.

Requirements

Hands-on software development background in Backend Engineering and/or Developer Experience.
Experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure, either hands-on or through leadership of those teams.
Experience leading multiple teams through team leads in a group manager, director, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes, with AWS, GCP, or similar experience.
Track record at SaaS companies, ideally in a fast-growing scale-up.
Clear communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs to engineers and business stakeholders.
Ability to build structure in ambiguous environments and move quickly.

Nice to have

Experience with security, AI infrastructure, or media streaming.
