Android Developer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Sterling, Virginia, United States; project in Dulles, VA

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Design and develop custom software tools and techniques for the Android platform.
• Own end-to-end software design and development for mission-focused projects.
• Diagnose and debug issues using COTS and GOTS tools.
• Develop documentation for operating and supporting software and techniques.
• Work closely with end users to solve real-time cyber challenges.
• Mentor and lead junior-level developers toward mission objectives.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance required; candidates may join with TS or higher and may later be upgraded to TS/SCI plus applicable polygraph.
• Development, testing, and debugging experience with Python and C.
• Experience with UNIX applications using makefiles or comparable build environments and mission-applicable platforms.
• Experience programming CNO tools and techniques.
• Network socket programming and expert packet-level understanding of IP, TCP, and application-level protocols.
• Ability to trace code execution with WinDbg, gdb, or IDA Pro and reverse engineer native binaries.
• Experience developing proof-of-concept exploit software.
• Knowledge of UNIX kernel internals, runtime linking and loading, object file formats such as ELF, file-system internals, access-control mechanisms, and process and thread APIs and data structures.
• Understanding of ASLR, DEP, NX, how to defeat these protections, and how to detect a defeat.
• Experience with version-control software such as Git or GitLab.

Nice to have

• Native-level mobile development and vulnerability analysis experience.
• Assembly experience, preferably ARM.
• Understanding of mobile security protections including SELinux and application sandboxing.
• Objective-C, Swift, or C++ programming experience.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment with changing requirements.
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science.
